On March 11, China National Building Material Group (CNBM) announced the global launch of SYT80 (T1200-grade) ultra-high strength carbon fiber, developed by its subsidiary Zhongfu Shenying. The product has achieved large-scale industrial production, marking a major breakthrough in high-performance carbon fiber technology.
The launch event was held simultaneously at CNBM’s headquarters in Beijing and at JEC World in Paris, one of the world’s leading exhibitions for composite materials.
According to CNBM, SYT80 carbon fiber achieves a tensile strength exceeding 8,000 MPa and is the first T1200-grade carbon fiber product in the world to reach industrial-scale production. The development represents a major step forward in high-performance carbon fiber manufacturing and strengthens CNBM’s capabilities in advanced materials.
Zhou Yuxian, chairman of CNBM, said the company has been investing in carbon fiber research and industrialization for more than two decades. He noted that CNBM will continue to expand innovation and international cooperation in advanced materials and support the development of next-generation industries.
